    CORE MISSION STATEMENT

We aim to be open to God's word, to the love of Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirt.  We aim to be caring and Christ-centred by loving God, our neighbour and God's astoundingly diverse creation

St. Andrew's Church dates from 1870 and became a parish in its own right in the early 1980s when the completely independent Parish of "Shottery St. Andrew" and a Vicar with traditional "Parsons Freehold" was established.

In 1997 the Parish Centre was built to the rear of the church and at Easter 2005 the church  building was re-ordered and physically extended.

  • DIARY OF A CROSS IN MY POCKET by Revd. Joan Whyman.

Diary of a Cross in my Pocket. September 28th. Well, I'm back! I have often been asked at the end of a retreat if I have enjoyed my holiday! A retreat, if entered into fully is not a holiday! The solitary silence, by the removal of distractions and busyness, and through prolonged periods of prayer and contemplation brings the retreatant face to face with issues of faith both personal and of the wider world, which are often avoided with the distractions of daily life. But retreat also brings joy, a deepening of faith and new hope for the future. Thanks be to God for his blessings.
