St Andrew’s Church is a friendly place of worship & community situated in the village of Shottery about a mile from Stratford upon Avon Town Centre, and near to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.

We are a friendly church which seeks to welcome everyone including families, children and those who live alone.

Welcome to the St. Andrew’s Church Shottery website. Here you can find out about our community, find groups and activities that interest you and discover how you can get involved.

Mostly we hope that through looking through this site you will discover that God is real, alive and active in Shottery through the life of this Church.

St Andrew's Church has a reputation for being a friendly, welcoming church, and everyone is encouraged to share coffee and chat after each Sunday service in the Parish Centre.  Facilities in the church include hearing loop and wheelchair access.    We also boast a large car park.

Through fellowship we seek to know and support one another and the community and to live out the love of God in our daily lives. St Andrew’s helps people to achieve this through worship, prayer, house groups, pastoral care, working with young people and the elderly and through social activities.

Our main Sunday Service is usually a Communion Service which takes place at 10am. We welcome children to this service and have table activities/craft for them to enjoy at the back of the church.  On certain special occasions throughout the year we also hold Family Services on the first Sunday of the month instead of our usual communion services which are suitable for children and all are welcome.   Evening Worship is at 6.30pm each Sunday.

There is a 7.30pm Communion Service on Tuesdays and 7.30pm Communion Service on Thursdays at 10am.    On the second and fourth Sundays of the month we have Fellow Travellers who meet during the Service in the Parish Centre.

Music plays a significant part in the worship at St Andrews we have a robed choir, and the occasional musical instrument input..

Do you need a space to hire on a regular basis or occasional? If so please  contact our parish office for details. (See pictures of the building inside.). Visitors are always welcome do come and look round. [The church is usually open during the day]

So, whether you are looking for a place to worship, are interested in getting married or want to find out more about baptism at St. Andrews, please contact us - we'd love to hear from you. Or, even better, why not come on a Sunday or midweek to join us in our worship; you will be most welcome.

There is so much in our Church family life we would like you to know about. Please explore this website to see what we do.

We would love for you to join us on a Sunday.    Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome.

What to expect

As a diverse community we appreciate different ways of gathering to worship but essentially our heart to reflect God’s love is the same.

• I don’t have a faith. Can I come?
We’re all on a journey! Nobody has it perfectly sorted out, even our Vicar! We believe that questions are great and help us move along the road – so please bring your questions!

• My children are noisy – can they come too?
Absolutely! We’re a big family and your family is welcome to join ours. We recommend visiting our Family  Service which is lively and child-friendly.  Each morning service is followed by Coffee/Tea/biscuits in the Parish Centre which is a great opportunity to chat.    Please contact the Parish Office 01789 293381 if you have any queries.

• Where do I park?

We have a large car park on site.

• What do I wear?
Just come as you are!

• What about the collection?
If you’re visiting or are still settling in, seriously let it pass by. No problem.
