Church Groups

Cell Group

Cell Group meets on Wednesday at 7.30 pm during Term Time.

The aim is to study aspects of our faith so that we can apply what it teaches about living as Christians in our modern and often confusing world.

Mothers’ Union

The Shottery Branch of the Mothers’ Union is affiliated to the World Wide Society through membership of the Coventry Diocese.

Full details can be seen on their website www.themothersunion.org for those interested.

To summarise, the aim of Mothers’ Union is the advancement of the Christian Religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.

Here in Shottery, our activities are rather modest. We meet monthly on the 2nd Monday of every month at 2pm, except August, in our Parish Centre.

All are welcome.

SAMWAG

St. Andrew’s Malt Whisk(e)y Appreciation Group is a gathering of people who are interested in the wide variety of characteristics of Malt Whisk(e)y, from the aspects of learning about them and of experiencing them. We meet occasionally to exchange our experiences and to sample each others’ offerings!

Being “based” on our Church (although members can belong to other Churches in the area), if for no other reason, we can usually be seen at the St. Andrew’s Haggis Supper.

Our other gatherings are by mutual agreement.

Brownies

2nd Shottery Brownies was re-opened in November 2007 when it was realised that waiting lists for Brownies across Stratford warranted opening another pack. As a pack, we try to work on one badge per term, and have done Faith Awareness and World Cultures recently. We attend the Family Services at St Andrew's and take part in various District and Division Events.

We meet on Monday evenings, and if you are interested in finding out more, please e-mail:

Sarah Undery, Brown Owl, at: 2ndshotterybrownies@gmail.com or contact the Parish office during office hours.

Book Group

This group meets on Zoom once a month. We choose books which have some connection to the Christian faith and journey. Contact Revd Craig at kankudai43@aol.com

Open the Book

The Open the Book team from St Andrew's Church visit schools in Stratford on a regular basis to tell dramatised bible stories to the children during an assembly. We rehearse the story and then take it to school, where we ask for a few children volunteers to help us act it out to the rest of the school.

Open The Book works under the umbrella of Bible Society and there are now thousands of Open the Book storytellers over the country making sure that every child hears the stories of the Bible in their primary school years.
