Our Vicar: Reverend Craig Groocock

Craig is a Shropshire lad, who before coming to ordination served as Coventry Diocesan Youth Advisor and as Youth & Children’s Worker in both Warwick and Bedworth.

Before coming to Shottery in June 2019, he was Priest in Charge of Harbury & Ladbroke for eleven years having served his curacy at St. Nicholas, Kenilworth.

Craig is married to Su who is ordained and a curate at Coventry Cathedral and have two children, Jess and Elliot and a grandson, Eddie.

Craig holds a Black Belt in Karate (useful for PCC meetings!), enjoys running, walking hills, playing guitar and eating curries – but not all at the same time.

Curate : Revd Sarah Cushing

Sarah was born in, and has lived in Stratford-upon-Avon all her life and many of her ancestors too. She trained for Reader ministry back in 2011 - 2014, and then felt a further call towards Priestly ministry, and having trained at Ripon College in Cuddesdon for 2 years, was ordained as Deacon in July 2021, and as Priest in 2022 at Coventry Cathedral.

Sarah has worked in the past as a Debt Collection Manager, PA to the Assistant Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Council with some Lieutenacy work involved in that, also as a Property Manager for a local Estates Agents. In the past has also worked in Schools. Sarah has also worked locally as Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. Sarah also passed her exams as a Scottish Country Dance Teacher through the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

Sarah loves spending time with her wonderful son James, but also with her precious cat, Lily. She loves meeting with friends, researching her family history which has gone far and wide, and also walking and Scottish Country Dancing, reading and jigsaw puzzles.

Sarah's passion lies at the heart of Jesus' teaching to come alongside others in day to day ministry. Proclaiming the Good News to all she meets.
